Orion Communications, Inc. is a Washington DC metropolitan area firm specializing in the design and installation of standards-based structured premise cabling systems, including voice, data, fiber and CATV systems. Systems are backed by a 15-year manufacturer-based warranty. Our customer base includes DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia. Due to rapid growth, we are seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions:
- Installers/Technicians
Installers and Technicians are needed for all aspects of voice, data, CATV and optical fiber installations, terminations and testing. Must be a team player. Successful candidates need not have ALL of the above skills, but salary will be based on actual experience and skills. On-going training will be provided to enhance skills and knowledge of EIA/TIA standards.
- Crew Foremen
Must have hands-on experience as foreman or supervisor of small cable installation crews. Projects of less than 500 manhours are typical. This is a working Forman position, and candidates must meet ALL of the skill requirements of Installers and Technicians (above). Salary will be based on actual experience and qualifications.
- Project Superintendent
Requires experience as an on-site, hands-on, working project manager for large voice and data cable installation projects. Responsibilities include supervision of multiple crews, customer coordination, scheduling, documentation, project profitability and complete customer satisfaction. Successful candidate will have very strong organizational and communication skills. Projects of 500-2,000 manhours are typical. Knowledge of the building and construction industry is helpful. RCDD desired. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
- Senior Salespeople
Experienced salespeople are needed immediately to follow-up and close pre-qualified leads. Strong skills in closing larger cabling projects must be demonstrated. Successful, sustained attainment of annual sales of $1 million or more is desired. Thorough knowledge of EIA/TIA standards is required. RCDD desired, but will train worthy candidates. Compensation is negotiable, based on actual experience.
